Lauren and Alie fell in love with the venue immediately, just like they did when they met each other. At a bar. In Chicago. On just any other ordinary day. According to Lauren, “I knew from the moment she walked in I was going to marry her” and that was that.

They brought their friends and family from the windy city to the mountains to tie the knot on a beautiful day in May, in front of snow-capped peaks and a seriously excited group of family and friends. We felt so lucky to be part of it!

The Details:

It was all spring and joy for this wedding! The aisle florals were a mix of brilliant poppies and twisty branches, welcoming in the spring/summer weather with open arms. Fern Floral made these installations and we love them! For the reception, these two outdoor lovers kept things light and elegant, with knotted, soft blue napkins, bud vases, wandering table greenery, and mason jars for drinking water.

Each table setting was adorned with a custom wooden name card for guests. Their head table was placed by the ceremony deck, so we could easily scoot it out of the way to make a giant dance floor.

The Story:

In true Colorado fashion, we started out the day with a raucous storm. Their friends serenaded them through the storm, and before the ceremony, the clouds parted, the skies cleared, and little dots of fog hung over the mountain.

The Party:

You all know how much we love Mountain Crust - so they kicked off cocktail hour and dinner with a delicious grazing table, appetizers, and their famous pizza bar. The weather was perfect for catching up on the deck, soaking up the views, and enjoying food and drink with friends.

After dinner, we cleared tables, pulled out the pride flags, and had one of most epic dance parties in North Star Gatherings history. It will always be remembered as one of our all-time favorites.
